Purpose of the Position:
The Social Auxiliary Worker will provide psychosocial services under the supervision of a social worker, focusing on HIV Priority Populations Prevention programming.
Minimum Requirements:
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
Certificate in Social Auxiliary Work from a recognized institution.
A minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience.
Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
Proficiency in English and isiXhosa.
Valid Code 8 driver’s license.
Clear criminal record.
Duties and Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include:
Conducting comprehensive psycho-social assessments of adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) and their families.
Conducting household profiling using specific profiling tools.
Providing a minimum package of community-based care and referrals to social workers/facilities.
Supporting social workers in assessing needs and implementing youth care clubs.
Submitting monthly reports and maintaining accurate records of patient information and interventions.
