About the Anglo American Mining Cadet Program:
The Mining Cadet Program is designed as a community enrichment initiative, focusing on hands-on training and real work experience. Selected candidates will undergo both theoretical and practical training, preparing them for a future in mining. Requirements:
To be eligible for the Anglo American Mining Cadet Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Grade 12 qualification with Mathematics (or Mathematics Literacy) and English
Minimum pass mark of 40% in both subjects
Medically fit and able to work in opencast mining conditions
Willing to work on surface and possibly in shifts
Must be a South African citizen
Must pass psychometric and K53 Simulator assessments
A valid South African driver’s license is advantageous but not mandatory
Must be from the host communities (with proof of residence)
Program Details & Conditions:
The learnership will take place at Anglo American’s Mogalakwena Complex. Selected candidates must be prepared to work in dusty open-cast mining areas, adhere to strict work schedules, pass the required medical fitness test, and demonstrate strong communication skills in English.
