Key Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Establishing foundational knowledge in students and guiding them to develop abstract thought and complete independent work across curricula.
Building and maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Creating a diverse and inclusive learning environment to motivate and inspire students.
Principal Accountabilities
Academic Delivery (40%):
Implementing innovative teaching strategies aligned with Crawford's educational pillars.
Preparing and delivering lessons tailored to individual student needs, incorporating technology to enhance learning.
Academic Assessment and Reporting (20%):
Continuous assessment of student performance, recording progress and integrating data into future planning.
Completing necessary reports for parents and staff, and participating in moderation processes.
Student Behavior Management (10%):
Establishing and managing classroom rules and procedures, mentoring students for their emotional well-being, and identifying barriers to learning.
School Brand Ambassadorship (10%):
Representing Crawford International positively in various school activities and events.
Administration (10%):
Maintaining an organized learning environment and ensuring adherence to timetables and procedures.
Health & Safety (10%):
Supervising students during play and applying first aid when necessary, reporting safety issues promptly.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Degree (NQF level 6) with PGCE or B.Ed. in Intermediate/Intersen/Senior Phase or Foundation Phase.
Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience; a 1-year teaching internship may be considered at the Principal’s discretion.
Certifications: Valid SACE certificate, Police Clearance, and a valid Driver’s Licence.
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of global competencies, inquiry-based learning, and digital literacy.
Required Competencies
Strong planning and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to think critically, problem-solve, and manage professional relationships effectively.
