Requirements

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Education:  

  • Grade 10 (essential)

  • Grade 12 (added advantage)

• Licensure:  

  • Driver’s License (added advantage)

• Skills:  

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (bilingual is a must)

  • Ability to follow and execute given instructions

  • Good physical health with basic skills for physical work

  • A hard-working, self-disciplined individual

  • Must reside within the jurisdiction of Midvaal Local Municipality

  • A minimum of 1 year relevant experience in general work, specifically as a cleaner within Midvaal Local Municipality or Local Government Authority

Duties

In this role, the General Worker will be responsible for:

• Cleaning offices, bathrooms, stockrooms, and the kitchen to ensure a clean and healthy working environment for employees and the public.

• Serving tea and coffee to department visitors.

• Preparing venues for meetings by cleaning, setting out water decanters, glasses, and refreshments.

• Assisting with general office administration duties when the primary schedule is complete.

• Performing any additional tasks or duties as required or requested by the management (supervisor).
