Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Fitter. The purpose of this role is to perform mechanical maintenance on equipment and machinery safely and cost-effectively, maximizing equipment reliability and availability.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety, Health, and Environment:
Adhere to all health and safety practices.
Promote good housekeeping to ensure a safe working environment.
Exemplify and prioritize safety standards and procedures.
Performance and Delivery:
Pipefitting: Select, cut, and install pipes, supports, and fixtures for piping systems.
Structural Fitting: Assemble and install structural components like beams and frameworks.
Machinery Installation: Assemble, install, and align machinery and mechanical equipment.
Welding: Perform welding tasks to ensure durable connections.
Alignment and Calibration: Use precision tools to ensure proper functionality of machinery.
Equipment Control:
Maintain and optimize equipment utilization for production efficiency.
Report defects and equipment failures to supervisors for timely decision-making.
Support maintenance tasks per Standard Maintenance Practices (SMP).
Assistance:
Collect and label oil samples for laboratory analysis.
Collaborate with supervisors and co-workers to achieve functional goals.
Qualifications:
Education: Grade 12 Certificate / N3 Technical
Certification: Trade Certificate as Fitter
License: Valid South African Drivers Licence
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of operational maintenance experience in a Fitter role.
Technical Knowledge:
Understanding of safety standards and regulations.
Familiarity with equipment, oil sampling methodologies, and maintenance techniques.
Experience with elevators, screens, pumps, and shuttle cars is advantageous.
