Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrician in our Engineering & Maintenance department. The role focuses on performing electrical maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure functionality, safety, reliability, and availability, thereby maximizing operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Safety, Health, and Environment:
Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
Promote good housekeeping to ensure a compliant environment.
Exemplify safety procedures and participate in risk assessments.
Equipment and Machinery Maintenance:
Maintain and test equipment machinery within budgetary limits.
Conduct inspections to identify potential failures; raise notifications for repairs.
Report defects and equipment failures to the Supervisor for issue resolution.
Maintenance Efficiency:
Ensure installations and commissioning are maintained as specified.
Monitor maintenance progress to meet operational targets.
People Development:
Identify on-the-job learning opportunities for skill enhancement.
Attend relevant training sessions to develop competencies.
Reports to:
Engineering Supervisor - Electrical
Qualifications
Education: Grade 12 Certificate or N3 Technical
Certification: Qualified Artisan (Electrician), SA Driver’s License
Experience: 2 years’ operational experience as an Electrician
Technical Knowledge:
Understanding of company policies related to electrical work.
Knowledge of PLC systems, high and low voltage fault finding, and electrical motor reconditioning.
Familiarity with lock-out procedures and their implementation.
