Job Description:

Cashbuild is seeking diligent Cashiers to ensure the accurate handling of all Point of Sale (POS) transactions while providing a high level of customer satisfaction. The successful candidates will play a vital role in managing the checkout process and ensuring that all goods and stock are paid for at the POS.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately handle all POS transactions and maintain proper documentation.

• Ensure that no goods or stock pass through the POS without payment.

• Manage cash handling tasks, including balancing floats and petty cash.

• Verify correct identification and capture of goods on the POS terminal.

• Maintain sufficient change at all times and perform accurate cash-ups at shift end.

• Report any damaged stock and discrepancies to the Store Manager.

• Compile, sign, and file all relevant administrative documentation.

• Adhere to safety (OHSA) requirements and security protocols.

• Provide fast, friendly, and efficient service to customers during transactions.

• Resolve customer inquiries and direct them to appropriate personnel as necessary.

Eligibility & Requirements:

• Essential:  

  • Minimum qualification of Grade 12 or one (1) year of work-related experience.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and the dominant local language.

  • Competence in performing basic calculations accurately.

  • Strong administration skills.

  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

  • Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining quality customer service.

• Advantageous:  

  • Up to 6 months of retail experience.

  • Microsoft Office proficiency.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Knowledge of building materials and home improvement products.
